Where we usually start
The most common starting point is a report someone rebuilds by hand every week: exporting from two or three systems, pasting into a spreadsheet, reconciling the differences, then sending a PDF that is out of date by the time it lands. We automate that one report end to end first, because it proves the pipeline works and buys back time immediately. From there the usual next steps are an operations dashboard for the team running the day, a management view for the numbers the board asks about, and only then the more speculative work like forecasting. Starting small and useful beats starting with a data warehouse project nobody can see the end of.
Data our clients bring us, and where it lives
Most New Zealand businesses we work with are running some combination of Xero or MYOB, a CRM, an industry specific system that only their sector uses, and a great many spreadsheets. None of it was designed to be joined up, and that is normal. Our job is to consolidate it without forcing you to replace any of it. Where the data is sensitive or the sector expects it, we can keep everything in New Zealand based infrastructure and handle it under the Privacy Act 2020, with access controlled per role so people see the numbers relevant to their job and nothing else.
